💳 Payment Terms

To ensure maximum transparency and security, all rental payments are processed according to the terms and methods outlined below.

Bookings made more than 14 days in advance
Payment may be divided into two stages:

Deposit: at least 30% of the total rental amount, payable upon booking as confirmation of the reservation.

Balance: the remaining amount must be paid before vehicle delivery or the start of the rental period, and is subject to the actual receipt of funds in the company’s account.

Bookings made less than 14 days in advance
In accordance with European regulations on distance sales and service provision, full payment is required in a single installment at the time of booking.
Such payment, together with the signed rental agreement, constitutes final confirmation of the service.

  • Debit cards: Bancomat, PagoBancomat, Cirrus/Maestro, V Pay, Electron, UnionPay

  • Credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, Diners, JCB, American Express

  • Digital wallets: Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal

  • Bank transfer (to be completed within the indicated time frame)

  • Cash, within the limits set by applicable regulations

Any extra mileage, additional charges, or verified damages will be settled upon return of the vehicle, as specified in the rental agreement.

All payments are processed through systems that comply with European security standards (PSD2 and Strong Customer Authentication – SCA). Customers’ personal data is processed in accordance with the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679).

In relation to payments made by credit card, debit card or other electronic payment instruments, a transaction management fee may be applied, related to the costs incurred for processing the payment by the payment service providers. These costs may vary depending on the circuit used and the payment method and may reach up to 3.9% for specific types of transactions.

Security deposit

To access our short-term rental service (including rentals lasting several consecutive months), the availability of at least one valid bank-issued credit card, in the name of the contract holder and to be presented in original form at vehicle handover, is required.
The credit card is used to establish a security deposit prior to the start of the service, as a guarantee for contractual obligations and any potential damages, costs or insurance deductibles.

For short or standard rental periods, the deposit is normally secured by means of a pre-authorisation (temporary hold of funds) on the credit card. This operation does not result in any immediate charge and the amount remains unavailable until release, according to the timelines set by the card network and the issuing bank.
Any unavailability or early expiration of the pre-authorisation may result in the suspension or termination of the rental contract.

Due to the time limits imposed by international card networks on the validity of pre-authorisations, for long-term rentals the security deposit may be required by bank transfer, instead of credit card pre-authorisation or charge.
In such cases, the availability of a valid bank-issued credit card in the name of the contract holder remains mandatory, as a prerequisite for entering into the rental agreement and for additional operational guarantees.

The deposit paid by bank transfer must remain available for the entire duration of the rental, including any extensions or renewals, and will be refunded after the conclusion of the service, subject to verification of proper contractual compliance and the condition of the vehicle, in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions.

The amount of the security deposit depends on the vehicle model rented and is independent of the rental duration.

Only bank-issued credit cards from the main networks (Visa, MasterCard, Diners, JCB) are accepted for the security deposit. Prepaid, rechargeable, virtual, Electron and revolving cards are not accepted. In some cases, a second credit card may be required.

The security deposit must be available prior to vehicle collection and remain valid for the entire rental period.

The security deposit is refunded in full after the end of the rental, according to the method used, subject to offsetting of any amounts due in accordance with the contractual conditions. The choice of the security deposit method remains at the sole discretion of Exclusive Rent’s management.
